As far as I know, the form 'Robinshood' is unique. In view of the tendency to confuse [[Wood for Hood|'Wood' and 'Hood']], one might have suggested that 'Robinshood' was originally 'Robins Wood', were it not for the fact that Robinshood Marsh was located just ''c.'' 150 m SE of [[Robinhood (Southminster)|a grass area named Robinhood in Southminster]], just over the (civil) parish border. Robinshood Marsh.
Robinshood Marsh indicated with a red dot, Robinhood in Southminster with a yellow outline / Google Earth Street View.

By Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2018-02-16. Revised by Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2021-02-12.

'Robinshood marsh' is listed as a field-name in the 1839 tithe award schedule for Dengie, Essex, with Captain Henry Fanshaw as landowner, James Malden as occupier, 'Pasture' as state of cultivation, and an area of 10 acres, 2 roods, 4 perches (42593.16 m2).[1]

The field, situated immediately NW of Middlewick Windfarm[2] retains the shape and size it had when the tithe award map was prepared. While the field still exists, I have no evidence to suggest that it has retained its name.

As far as I know, the form 'Robinshood' is unique. In view of the tendency to confuse 'Wood' and 'Hood', one might have suggested that 'Robinshood' was originally 'Robins Wood', were it not for the fact that Robinshood Marsh was located just c. 150 m SE of a grass area named Robinhood in Southminster, just over the (civil) parish border. Most likely 'Robinshood' is a mistake for "Robinhoods", "Robinhood's" or "'Robinhood'".
