It is not clear exactly where on London Road No. 53 was located at the time. Google Earth suggests somewhere between Monroe's Hotel and Piccadilly Station, and based on the routes census takers seem to have followed judging from the sequence in which they visited side (and intersecting) streets, it does seem likely that the pub was located in that area.{{PnItemQry}}

A pub named the Robin Hood on 53 London Road, Manchester, figures in the records from 1871 to 1929.

The excellent Pub History website lists information on publicans and other residents from 1876 to 1929.[1] To this we may add a slightly earlier entry, for the 1871 census lists Frederick Salt as "Licensed Victualler" at the Robin Hood.[2]

It is not clear exactly where on London Road No. 53 was located at the time. Google Earth suggests somewhere between Monroe's Hotel and Piccadilly Station, and based on the routes census takers seem to have followed judging from the sequence in which they visited side (and intersecting) streets, it does seem likely that the pub was located in that area.
