'Robinhoodstreteclose' is mentioned in Wakefield Court Rolls for 1650. A. H. Smith treats this as the earliest reference to a locality which is referred to in 1657 and later as Robin Hood Hill,[1] but it seems unlikely these two name could have applied to the same locality. They probably refer to distinct if adjacent localities.
For want of a better option, the coordinate indicated on the Google map and cited in the fact box is that of Robin Hood Hill.
