'Robinshood marsh' is listed as a field-name in the 1839 tithe award schedule for Dengie, Essex, with Captain Henry Fanshaw as landowner, James Malden as occupier, 'Pasture' as state of cultivation, and an area of 10 acres, 2 roods, 4 perches ({{AcreRoodPerchToM2|10|2|4}} m2).<ref>[https://www.thegenealogist.co.uk/ Genealogist.co.uk], Piece 12, Sub-Piece 108, Image 006; schedule (requires paid subscription); [https://www.thegenealogist.co.uk/ Genealogist.co.uk], Piece 12, Sub-Piece 108, Sub-Image 001; map (requires paid subscription).

The field, situated immediately NW of Middlewick Windfarm<ref>[http://www.blue-energyco.com/middlewick-wind-farm-begins-commercial-operations/ Blue Windfarm: Middlewick Wind Farm begins Commercial Operations.]</ref> retains the shape and size it had when the tithe award map was prepared. While the field still exists, I have no evidence to suggest that it has retained its name. As far as I know, the form 'Robinshood' is unique. Is it a mistake for 'Robinhoods'? In view of Robin Hood's connection with May games it is perhaps worth noting that the village immediately south and southeast of Robinshood Marsh is named Mayland.{{#ask:[[Category:Records ({{#ifeq:{{#pos:{{PAGENAME}}|(|}}||{{PAGENAME}}|{{#sub:{{PAGENAME}}|0| {{#expr:{{#pos:{{PAGENAME}}|(|}}-1}} }},{{#sub:{{PAGENAME}}|{{#expr:{{#pos:{{PAGENAME}}|(|}}-1}}|1}}{{#sub:{{PAGENAME}}|{{#expr:{{#pos:{{PAGENAME}}|(|}}+1}}}}}}]]| format=embedded|embedformat=h4|columns=1|limit=1000|sort=Utitle|intro=<h3>Records</h3>}}

By Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2018-02-20. Revised by Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2018-02-20.

The 1842 tithe award for Southminster includes in its listing for North Wick a plot of land named Robinhood, owned by John Faithful Fortescue and occupied by John Kemp, with 'Grass' as state of cultivation and an area of 20 acres, 2 roods and 17 perches (Template:AcreRoodPerchToM2 m2).[1] Robinhood was situated c. 150 m NW of Robinshood Marsh in Dengie and c. 575 m NW of Middlewick Windfarm[2] I have no evidence to show if the name 'Robinhood' is still in use.
