The well-informed Henry Harben noted that the long lost Robin Hood Court in Bow Lane was '[n]amed after the sign'.[1] Pubs, being communal hubs and having conspicuous signs, must often have lent their names to the streets in which they were situated. So far IRHB has no direct evidence for the existence of a Robin Hood pub in Robin Hood Court, but its existence is tentatively accepted on the strength of Harben's suggestion. Template:PnItemQry
