'Robin Hood' appears to have been originally the name of a country estate with several large buildings situated in a spacious, perhaps park-like garden, located about 0.5 km NNW of Bassenthwaite. It is included on the 6" O.S. map of the area published in 1867 as well as subsequent revisions (see Maps section below). The original buildings remain, but Robin Hood has recently morphed into 'Robin Hood Park' or 'Robin Hood Holiday Park', a resort with newly built holiday lodges[1]
