Robin Hood's Well Clough on Jacksons' Moor above Whitworth is named after Robin Hood's Well. The name first appears on a 6" O.S. map published 1851, based on a survey carried out 1844-48. It is still in use.[1]Template:PlaceNamesItemQuery
