The site of Robin Hood's Well.

By Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2017-01-20. Revised by Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2018-07-12.

In Little Budworth, Cheshire, at the north end of the area encompassed by Coach Road, White Hall Lane and Beech Road, is or was a Robin Hood's Well (see maps listed below). Dodgson in the English Place-Name Society's third volume on Chester lists the locality without providing any source, which usually indicates a modern date.[1] The earliest record I have found is a 6" O.S. map of the area published in 1881, based on surveying done in 1874. In view of the lack of references on the web, it seems most likely that this place-name is defunct.
