Robin Hood's Retreat was until recently the name of a pub, later pub/restaurant, in Bristol. After a change of owners the place reincarnated in 2014 as The Grace.[1]

Between them 'The Gloucester Road Story' and 'UK Pub History Research and London Historical Street Directory' list the following information from trade directories for this pub:

  • 1890. Publican: John Harris[2]
  • 1900. Publican: John Harris[3]
  • 1910. Publican: George Garraway[4]
  • 1914. Publican: George Garraway[5]
  • 1921. Publican: Henry Lewis Tripp[6]
  • 1931. Publican: Henry Lewis Tripp[7]
  • 1938. Henry Louis Tripp[5]
  • 1939. Publican: Henry Lewis Tripp[8]
  • 1950. Publican: Rt. Chas. Powles[9]
  • 1962[10]
  • 1970.[11]

'Robin Hood's Retreat' may sound fancy and modern, but in fact the pub was known under that name from at least as early as 1890.
