By Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2020-06-18. Revised by Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2020-12-22.

The current Edenthorpe Caravan Site, formerly known as Gurth Avenue Caravan site, is essentially a fenced-off stretch of Gurth Avenue in Kirk Sandall, with caravans and other more or less temporary accomodation either side of the road. In Walter Scott's Ivanhoe (1820), Gurth is a swineherd to Cedric the Saxon, the father of Wilfred of Ivanhoe. While the caravan site appears no longer to be named after him, there are still ten other thoroughfares in this vicinity that have Robin Hood/Ivanhoe-related names. Like the rest of the neighbourhood the caravan site must be of 20th century origin. Template:PnItemQry
