THOMAS SMITH. I am a master mariner—I live at Robin Hood's Bay, Yorkshire—the name of my vessel is the Helen—this note is not in my handwriting, and it was not written by my authority—I have seen the prisoner before, where, I can hardly say, but I rather think he has sailed with me—I am not certain.[1]
