Appointment of William Bacon, mayor of Suthampton, William Mauneshull, bailiff thereof, Thomas Hoywode and William Scarlet [p. 406:] to take twenty hewers of stone in the county of Southampton for the works of the walls of the said town, put them to the works at the wages of the men of the town, there to stay as long as shall be necessary, and arrest all who are contrariant and commit them to prison until they find security to serve on the works.[1]
