Surrender: Matilda of the Meadow, daughter of Simon, into the hands of Robert of
Ashfield, in the presence of Walter Robhood villein and others of the homage, to
[p. 86:] the use of Simon Cokerel and his successors, a messuage in Ashfield, which she
holds from the lord by the rod and by rent from increment of ld., granted to him
to hold in the same form, fine 40d.; he swore fealty.[1]
