Add this annotation to any images uploaded from there: Request for clarification of copyright status has not been answered. The site's policy is to answer only if an answer is deemed necessary. In view of date of materials it is assumed they are no longer in copyright.
• the variants edited in Williams, Ralph Vaughan, ed.; Lloyd, A. L., ed. The Penguin Book of English Folk Songs (Harmondsworth, Middlesex; Baltimore, MD; Ringwood, Victoria, 1959) and Williams, Ralph Vaughan, coll. & transcr.; Palmer, Roy, ed. Folk Songs (London; Melbourne; Toronto 1983) must be matched with primary variants from Vaughan Williams Memorial Library if possible or else entries of the MS sources must be made based on data in the books. As of this writing, the editions in the two books are only listed under Scholarly and literary editions. They must be listed also under the general Primary editions heading and under Primary editions under the variants in question.
