"Robinhoodstreteclose" is mentioned in Wakefield Court Rolls for 1650. A.H. Smith treats this as the earliest reference to a locality referred to as Robin Hood Hill in 1657 and later,[1] but it is uncertain whether these two names refer to the same place. They may refer to distinct if adjacent, localities. The coordinates indicated on the Google map and cited in the fact box are those I provide for Robin Hood Hill.
