Robin Hood at Bassenthwaite Lake was originally a country house situated in a spacious park-like garden, located about 0.5 km NNW of Bassenthwaite. It is included on the 6" O.S. map of the area published in 1867 as well as subsequent revisions (see Maps section below). The original buildings remain, but the area has recently been repurposed as Robin Hood Holiday Park, a resort with newly built holiday lodges that are offered for sale individually.[1] The original main house is offered for rent as a self-catering holiday cottage under the name Robin Hood Cottage.[2]

About 150 m SSE of Robin Hood Cottage is found Robin Hood Wood.
