Barrie Cox in the English Place-Name Society's seventh volume on Leicestershire refers to four trade directories that list this pub. They date from 1846, 1863, 1877, and 1925. In 1863 the pub is listed as 'Robin Hood and Little John', while the other trade directories know it simply as 'Robin Hood'.[1] Template:PlaceNamesItemQuery
