Stainforth, near which the locality named Robin Hood was located.

By Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2014-09-04. Revised by Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2017-09-02.

A pasture that is or was named 'Robin Hood' is located c. 550 m NW of Giggleswick. Its eastern edge can be reached by going c. 700 m north along Mill Hill Lane from Craven Bank Lane and walking about 90 m due west, Is western boundary is formed by a little wood.

A.H. Smith lists "Robin Hood" as a field name in Stainforth, his source being an 1845 tithe award.[1] Unless it is found on O.S. 6" map Yorkshire Sheet 114 (1851, surveyed 1846), which is not available online, I do not believe this field name is included on O.S. maps of the area.[2]
