Robin Hood's Retreat was until recently the name of a pub, later pub/restaurant, at 197 Gloucester Road in Bristol. After a change of owners the place reincarnated in 2014 as The Grace.[1] The pub existed at least as early as 1890. Information on publicans gleaned from trade directories from the period 1890–1970 can be found at UK Pub History (see Sources section below). 'Robin Hood's Retreat' may sound fancy and modern, but the pub was in fact known under that name throughout its recorded history.
