Thoresby Hall, which was rebuilt in the period 1864-75, has a wooden mantelpiece in the library with carvings of a scene from [[Sherwood Forest]], dominated by the [[Major Oak (Sherwood Forest)|Major Oak]], and with statues of Robin Hood and Little John on either side of the fireplace.
