IRHB comments

The archery targets, "stakes", on Finsbury Fields had names. One of them was Robin Hood's Stake;[3] presumably this was the object of the vandals' attention. The writer of the account item, John Buck, was a butler, later steward, at Gray's Inn.[4] This item has not been noted in previous studies.
