This occurs in Nottingham chamberlains' accounts under the heading: "Reparacions and Costes made on dioerse thinges both within þe town and without, as herafter apperith."[2] The editor notes, vol. III, p. 475, s.n. Robin Hood's Close: "This was near S. Ann's Well, formerly known as Robin Hood's Well."
