[11 Oct. 1317:]
Robert Hereward amerced 6d. because he unlawfully deprived Alice the widow of William Robhood12 of her rightful dower of the tenement, formerly held by William in bondage, viz. half a messuage 1½a. of land; ordered the reeve and Hayward to have her rightful dower delivered to Alice, following the verdict of the homage and the custom of the manor.13 Alice pays 6d. fined for entry, pledge Walter Rampolye.
Matthew Hereward amerced 6d. because he did not attend when he was summoned, and ordered to take into the lord's hands half of 1½a., which Alice [Alice Robwood] claims in dower; ordered to summon Matthew to be at the next court to reply etc., and the same day given to Alice.14[1]
