  • Robin Hood Green. By Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2017-12-25. Revised by … Robin Hood Green is a U-shaped street aroUnd a U-shaped lawn. Its centrepoint is a little soUtheast of that of Robin Hood Shaw, a similarly shaped, slightly larger wooded area, which together with adjacent areas had been developed, by the end of WWII, into a neighboUrhood of residential streets that tend to have Robin Hood-themed names. The right 'arm' of this U-shaped street was originally (meant to be) named Robin Hood Road and is labelled thUs on O.S. maps of the immediate post-WWII period. SUbseqUent low-resolUtion maps show Robin Hood Green in its modern shape, and presUmably its present name stems from that period.
