According to the Wikipedia article on this locality, "A local legend dictates that the body of Alan-a-Dale, one of Robin Hood's men, was buried in Papplewick", Wikipedia: Papplewick. while according to Dobson & Taylor, St James Church in Papplewick was "[a]llegedly the church at which Allen a Dale was married with the assistance of Robin Hood", a tradition which they think almost certainly "originates from the appearance of the witch of Papplewick in Ben Jonson's The Sad Shepherd".
