Sherwood Grove, Helsby.
By Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2019-06-04. Revised by Henrik Thiil Nielsen, 2021-02-13.
Sherwood Grove is a short residential cul-de-sac on the north side and west end of Lower Robin Hood Lane in Helsby.
With a handful of street and field names in this vicinity all going back to a now demolished Robin Hood pub which was in business by 1844, there can be little doubt that Sherwood Grove and Loxley Hall are part of a Robin Hood-theme. The homes on Sherwood Grove have a late 20th to early 21st century look, so the street is probably of fairly recent construction.
