The Robin Hood and Little John at a site which is now the corner of Deptford Church Street and Resolution Street is in evidence as early as 1826 and closed in 1970. The premises were torn down c. 1977.[1] The Post Office Directory for 1826 lists the pub as 'Robin Hood' tout court, but by 1840 'Robin Hood & Little John' seems to have become the standard form of the name.[2] At Pub History, information on publicans may be found for the period 1826–1964.[3]

The coordinates for this entry are those used at London Pubology.[4] The pub is not indicated or labelled on any of the 6" O.S. maps listed below (see Maps section), but all three 25" O.S. Map have 'P.H.' at the appropriate place. The earliest of them has another public house just two houses south of the Robin Hood. This must have closed or moved by the time the second 25" map was published in 1897.
